1m length of De Witte Engel Tricot Tubular Gauze / gauze for making basic doll heads.

Tricot Tube fabric / gauze is used to make basic doll heads, made from 100% cotton and supplied in 1m lengths.  Tricot tubular gauze is the base fabric used in creating Sun Child dolls, Steiner dolls and Waldorf style dolls.  This fabric  is used to hold the head stuffing and create the basic head shape.  This is usually done by binding the filled tricot tube with linen thread before being covered with under jersey and then doll jersey.

This fabric has been supplied by De Witte Engel, is 100% cotton and has been OEKO-TEX certified* making is safe for use in children’s toys.

This Tricot Tube fabric is packaged in 1m lengths and is available in different circumferences.  The following information may be of use:-

Sun child, Steiner and waldorf dolls are made of natural materials and usually filled with sheep’s wool to make the dolls soft and warm to touch.  The hair and clothing are usually also made of natural fibres and the appearance is intentially simple to allow the child to develop their imagination.
