Baby Molly Dolly Doo Dah Pattern Book to make a 14″ (36cm) Waldorf inspired doll

Baby Molly Dolly is another of the delightful Polly Dolly Doo Dah pattern books.  Designed by the talented Sherrill Church, we think this is one of the very best doll patterns out there!

This full colour pattern book contains everything you’ll need to create a cute baby Molly Dolly who is 14″ (36cm) tall.  The book has over 43 pages (which includes 5 chapter sections) along with 120 photographs.

The full colour instruction book includes every intricate detail on how to make your baby dolly, sculpt her face, stitch her eyes and mouth, attach her hair through to finishing her look with a lovely little dress, nappy pants and nappy.  The pull out patterns are printed full size on premium quality paper.

The pattern is suitable for anyone with a basic knowledge of sewing both by hand and using a sewing machine.

Maybe you’ve tried to make a Waldorf doll before and have had difficulty in producing a perfectly shaped face. Baby Molly Dolly is a modified version of the traditional Waldorf doll and the instruction manual provides you with detailed descriptions and photographic evidence on how and where to place the tying strings to sculpt the facial features into the most endearing little character. Measurements are also included for string placement to help you even further.

For the dolly you will need the following:-

• 1/4m Doll Jersey
• 25cm Tubular Gauze (Size C)
• Binding thread/Tying String
• Strong Thread
• Matching sewing thread
• 23cm x 9cm Iron-on Interfacing
• Embroidery Thread for the eyes
• Embroidery Thread for her face, bum and belly button!
• 200g Toy Grade Stuffing
• Lightweight wadding (2oz) cut into 3 x 14″ squares for the head ball
• 20m of brushable mohair yarn
• An elastic band

For her clothes you will need to provide…

• 1/4m cotton fabric for her dress and nappy pants
• Nappy fabric (pointelle or towelling)
• 6mm x 60cm elastic
• 3 snap fasteners
• Baby socks (new born)

You will also need the following equipment…

• A sewing machine
• Needles and pins
• A doll needle
• Basic sewing threads
• Small sharp scissors (embroidery scissors)
• A tape measure
• An iron (a travel iron or sleeve iron will make things easier!)
• Pinking shears are useful to tidy up edges
• Turning tool (either hemostats, a chopstick or thin dowel)
• A 3.5cm and 2.5cm crochet hook for making the hair cap and attaching the hair to Molly’s head
